You will be creating a logo for a company of your choice. Consider your target audience while creating your design. The logo should use the logo design principles that we spoke about in class. You do need to show your design process by showing at least 8 variations of your logo design before finalizing the top design.​

Significant amounts of logo iterations need to be explored and shown in the brainstorming and design process in Illustrator. Example

Don’t delete any of your logos. Move them off to the side or create a new layer to store them on.

Enlarge your design to fill the page neatly and to create balance and professional presentation.

Logo Help
Step 1: Brainstorming Steps

Create a new folder inside your Final folder and name it “Logo”.

Create a new Google Doc inside your project folder and copy and paste the Logo Creative Brief into this new doc.

Fill out the top of the Creative Brief and title it by clicking on Untitled Document.

Complete the Creative Brief brainstorming steps.
Step 2: Project Steps

Create an AI file that is 8.5x11” with 2 artboards.

Upload your sketch or reference photo into Illustrator and embed it.

Turn your grids on (command + “)

Start to recreate your sketch. Use the Sketching to Vector Instructions to better understand how you can do this if need be.
Step 3: Mockup Directions
Option 1: Use Illustrator AI - video tutorial
1. Go to Windows>Mockup
2. Select your logo and then select an item to mock it up on.
3. You can also bring your own object into Illustrator.
4. Adjust the proportions of the logo to make it look realistic.
Option 2: Use a Website - video tutorial
1. Export your JPG using the following settings
- Select Use Artboards
- Color Mode: RGB
- Quality: 10
- Resolution: 300
2. Upload your JPG file to an object that represents your brand.
3. You won’t be able to download the file so you can take a clean screenshot of the design (Shift+Command+4) and drag around your mockup.
4. The image will save to your desktop as a screenshot.
Final Mock Up

In Illustrator layout your final design with a large logo and a small version.

Place the mockup in your design neatly as well. Be sure to embed the image if you are placing a screenshot.

Make sure the layout is organized and looks professional.

If you want to take your layout to the next step, create a black and a white logo design to demonstrate how the logo is versatile.

Step 4: Turn In Directions
1. In Illustrator, leave all logos versions and sketches on layers that you can turn the visibility off.
2. Save your AI file as “lastName_Logo” and export your JPG using RGB and check that your settings are set to the highest quality possible.
3. Turn your files into your Logo folder.
4. Complete your self-evaluation on your rubric.
5. Complete and submit the checklist in Schoology.
